My name is Melissa Kate, and I’m the face behind CupKate’s Bakery. From an early age, I’ve been passionate about creating things. My passion to bake started around the age of 11 after watching cake decorating shows on TV. I decided to give baking a try, and when friends and family members saw my cakes, they wanted one of my creations as their own. As a result, my business was born, and I haven’t stopped baking since!
In May of 2021, I graduated college with a degree in Elementary Education. I spent the summer conflicted, trying to decide if I should teach or pursue my baking business full time. I decided to combine two of my passions, teaching and baking, by offering student baking classes. In September of 2021, I hosted my first class, and I have taught 21 classes since. I love working with kids and sharing my passion for baking with them.
My classes include piping techniques with buttercream, fondant skills, cookie decorating techniques with royal icing, baking tips and tricks, and more! Each class your student will come home with an edible project made in class including cookies, cupcakes, and a cake.
My 11 year old absolutely loved CupKate’s decorating class. Each class was highly organized, well planned and executed with excellence. The students learned a great deal with lots of hands-on experience. All the treats they made in class were absolutely adorable.
